SEIYUU FTW!!

>>Oh, um. Congrats to Spin for wining the EuroCup 2008.<<

To my surprise, I found out through countless YouTube clips that seiyuu are some of the most down-to-earth celebs out there. Compare even the seiyuu idols, the likes of Hirano Aya, and Chihara Minori, to those of Hollywood fame, like, iuno, Angelina Jolie, Brittany Spears. Spears is a wreck, who knows what happened to her…just look at her sister. Jolie is anorexic like heck, and there’s no way you can raise so many kids to live out their lives and their heritage in your household (coming from an anthropologists’ point of view).

I was planning to post a few clips of Paku Romi x Kugimiya Rie. Browsing began yesterday, after reading Hashihime’s post on Paku Romi. Oh man, here’s the clip that totally made my day.

Subtitled screencaps from the FMA dvd special, where Romi x Rie spin an entertaining yuri fantasy.
Okaeri nasai, anata! Would you like bangohan, ofuro - or - wa-ta-shi?”

My love for Toyoguchi Megumi has also jumped a few notches. After rewatching Black Lagoon the other day, and landing on so many FMA special clips, I decided to give FMA another go today. XD So here’s the clip that really made me want to watch it again.

Take note at the speed that Megumi talks at…it’s probably equivalent to the speed of a bullet train. It took me a few goes to catch a phrase or two coming out of her mouth…I only caught the words ‘pro-wrestler’ and ‘kawaii…dame!’ the first time. Just watching them talk about hair and braids make me laugh. Kawaisoo, Rie-chi. Poor girl. No one gives a crap about her. She’s so adorable tho. She’s so anime-like, it’s freaking amazing. Hahahaha. XD

I think I have other clips, but it’s not FMA-cast and/or anime related, so I’ll leave those for later…
(MAMI! DAISUKE!!) LOL, that girl is crazy when it comes to her own radioshows. XD

[EDIT]
I just noticed that I didn’t prove my point how seiyuu are down-to-earth, compared to most Hollywood celebs. LOL, oops. Here’s one. They like to enjoy games (and no, this is not about Ueda Kana):

LOL, Romi got GGed when the wall broke. XD And I can’t believe that Rie actually voiced Al out of a can…and she brought that with her while playing the game =__=

Moving on: Two Eds are better than one!!

Now how cool is that. I’m too lazy to search through my history to find the clip where Vic Mignogna (American VA for Edward Elric) shares his experiences in Tokyo, and how he sat in a recording session of Bamboo Blade and met two seiyuu from the FMA cast that were voicing roles in BB. Kuwashima Houko voiced Rose in FMA (first few eps of the series) and Miyako in BB. Since I see Megumi more hyperactive than Houko (which she probably is), I shall recall the events that I saw/heard in the clip. Note that it was VIc retelling the story at Anime Expo of when he was in Japan.

Vic is sitting in the studio, in awe at the seiyuu and the crew’s work. The lady sitting around him was actually someone from SquareEnix who came to the recording session. She told Vic that the guy he was sitting beside was the director for BB and he helped with the production of FMA. So he’s sitting there, screaming on the inside, going, “OMG!!” And in her broken English, the lady from SquareEnix goes, “…girl in black…sweater…there. Voice Winry” *his eyes lighten* “and…that one…beside…Rose.” *at this point, Vic is jumping up and down in glee on the inside* And then there was a break in the recording, and she goes, “Want to meet them?” and he’s like “YEA!!” in the American way. Then he’s like, “oh crap, I’m so American. What should I do??” and so he goes in, and the lady introduces him as “American-jin seiyuu” and you hear all the seiyuu go “OOOOHHHHH!” then the lady goes, “Vic Mignogna-san….Edward Elric” and then you see/hear/imagine Megumi waving and jumping up and down, pointing at herself, going, “I WINLY, WINLY!!” LOL, and so Vic runs to hug her and they take a team picture like the EuroCup. LOL THAT’S SO AWESOME.

And of course, there’s Romi’s “Col. Mustang is sexy in a miniskirt.” LOL HAHAHHA. OH MAN. Now that’s down-to-earth. She’s so happy receiving a gift and which Hollywood star would go that far to entertain an international guest?

SEIYUU FTW!!

[EDIT #2]
I’m too lazy to make a new entry, so I’ll just post this quickie here, related to j1m0ne’s blog update. It’s her monthly seiyuu blog round-up, meaning she goes around to various seiyuu’s blogs and gets interesting snippets that would entertain her readers since there hasn’t been much seiyuu news for June.

I LOL’d hard for some of the pictures (and caption) she put up for the annual RONDO ROBE event.

Taken from j1m0ne’s blog:

Toyoguchi Megumi and Kugimiya Rie. Their combined weight is probably equal to that of a golf ball.

Sei-sama (Toyoguchi) and Noriko (Shimizu Kaori) fighting over Shimako (Noto Mamiko).

Nabatame Hitomi. Looks remarkably like my grandmother.

The N’s group from Nogizaka Haruko no Himitsu - Sato Rina, Goto Mai, Shimizu Kaori & Ueda Kana. Stripes are soooo passe, girls. Leader Noto Mamiko was missing, which is probably a good thing since she can’t sing to save her life.

LOL. The battle of the White Roses was the best. Shimako-san obviously loves Sei-sama more. Look, Mami’s pulling away from Kaori and leaning more towards Megumi. XD As OtaAgg greatly said, “I’d overcome any obstacle to get to my dear Mami. Even if that obstacle is Megumi Toyoguchi.” LOL. And of course, Shimizu Kaori isn’t in the picture, because they duked it out as Revy vs Noriko. HAHA, so much for a White Rose affair…(where’d Revy come in anyway? LOL, clearly, too much Black Lagoon lately.)
The caption of how the combined weight of Megumi + Rie amounts to a golf ball scares me…I never noticed how skinny they both were…I knew Rie was skinny…but she looks way malnourished compared to the videos above.
I had to stop and breath when j1m0ne equated Hito-nee to her grandmother. And I can’t believe how the Nogizaka Haruko no Himitsu girls all ended up wearing black and white stripes in one form or other…another reason why I’m glad Mami wasn’t there.

Ijou.
