Now that I’ve been to Thailand last summer, my dream vacation is to go to Japan. Not JUST go to Japan, but actually do something WORTHWHILE. Like, maybe, meet a celeb? ;) Haha. Yeah. It’s called a dream for a reason.
But ever since I’ve heard all these people going/who went to Japan, I’ve just been craving to go. And I was promised Thailand many years ago, and I finally got it; on the other hand, Japan was promised two years back…so it’s probably gunna happen in the near, distant future.
During the March Break, I had an all out anime-craze. Watched both series of Jigoku Shoujo and Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori. And let me tell you, I loved it (side note: the live drama sucks). After that, I started looking into Mamiko Noto and Mizuki Nana. Mami-chan is such a talented voice actress. And as OtaAgg said, she’s a veteran at 28. Favourite line by far is “Ippen, shin de miru? (How would you like to see what death is like?)”, from her role as the Hell Girl, Enma Ai. I can’t believe I didn’t watch this anime sooner. It’s probably cuz I thought that it would take forever to watch two seasons of 26 episodes, so I left it for later. There’s a lot of anime that I haven’t picked up after burning them for so long. I started my anime collecting in ‘05…I believe the first true anime I watched was Fullmetal Panic!. Soon thereafter, I floated around Bleach, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist and Chobits. After that, I met a girl with the username of souls rhapsody. :D (She has an anime hit of probably over 100 completed series by now.) This is when all the real action started: Black Lagoon. Wooooo~ Let me tell you how that was a SICK anime series. The Japlish and Chinglish going on was just too enjoyable. And these ladies kick ass!! Props to Two-Hands Revy (Megumi Toyoguchi)! She also voiced Winry Rockbell in Fullmetal Alchemist o__O. Now that was a surprise.
Anyway, how this relates to my dream vacation. As said earlier, my anime-craze led to newfound love for what you would call a seiyuu (voice actor/actress). Mind you, I never paid attention to voice acting, and I never really cared…until I landed on some real shocking roles. (Another example is Koshimizu Ami’s voicing as Horo in Wolf & Spice vs Simoun’s Para-sama.) Hitting my top lists are Mizuki Nana, Mamiko Noto, Chihara Minori, Megumi Toyoguchi, and Koshimizu Ami. And as souls rhapsody clearly stated, seiyuu = a female yuri otaku’s ultimate weakness. Haha. Clearly visible if you’re a fan of Simoun. Love at first sight. Nana-san voices Minoras, Mami-chan voices Limone, Megumi-san voices Alti, and Koshimizu-san voices Paraietta. (Just for kicks, Minorin voices Nagato Yuki from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu.)
If I were to have a “be friends with” list, I would definitely add Kitamura Eri and Itou Shizuka. For this, I must now direct your attention to souls rhapsody’ blog, which in turn, will redirect you to j1m0ne’s blog. XD
Wow, that was totally off topic ==; ANYWAY.
I had a dream that I had successful enrolled in a Japanese summer school language program and my Jap was pretty decent…to survive. And our class went on a trip to, none other than, Nippon. So, being the tourist I am, I’m sightseeing and all, and then I hear squealing tires around the block (yes, I’ve been watching too much tv lately…), and there was a huge white van (the ones you see in TVB shows) speeding down the street — and there was a depressed looking pedestrian in its menacing path. Being the (wishful) hero(ine) I am, I rushed out to the middle of the street and knocked her away, and unfortunately, getting hit in the process. *cues car crash scenes* No, I didn’t die. Thank goodness. This is where the good stuff comes in — so I’m in ICU with a coma, and I miraculously wake up (heros don’t die!). Then I hear fluster and excited buzzing in the room. I open my eyes and I hear blurbs of joy that I’m alive and awake.
I feel a warm hand beside mine, and I look to my bedside to see the Idol Queen, Mizuki Nana. (=O=) So she was the depressed girl who almost got run over by a mean van. After that day, she came as often as she could in between recordings to see me, and when I finally got out of the hospital, she invited me over to a nabe partay ~ Let me tell you how difficult it was to communicate with her. Dry lips and all the Jap knocked out of me, all I managed to say was “tomodachi” -__- Anyway, at her nabe party, there were a vast number of other seiyuus. (TOT) It was unbelieveable. Minorin was there drinking nasty mixes, Shizuka Ito molesting everyone, and a drunk Ueda Kana thinking she’s in a virtual Halo 3 world. ^^; Then there were also those quite normal seiyuus who were just hot-potting and talking. Half of them were drunk and spitting character lines at each other tho. Haha. Too bad I woke up then. :( And yeah, that’s my (long) tibid on a DREAM vacation to Japan and actually meeting all these wonderful people. But fe’real. I wanna actually go to Japan. Anyone wanna come with? :D
